Frequently asked questions
- Do I have to be 21 to order?
- Yes. You must be at least 21 to use this site or buy wine, and every delivery requires the signature of an adult aged 21 or older. Carriers cannot leave wine unattended.
- Where does WineDiscounts.com ship?
- We ship from New Jersey to states that permit direct wine shipment from a New Jersey retailer: Connecticut, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming. The checkout verifies your ZIP code before an order can be placed.
- How much is shipping?
- Shipping is calculated at checkout from your state and the number of bottles. Twelve bottles ship as one case, the most economical option.
- Are your prices really discounts?
- Our web price is our shelf price, synced from the store's register. A discount is shown only when a bottle has a recorded compare-at price above today's price; the dollar and percentage savings are calculated from those two numbers, never estimated.
- Where do the critic scores come from?
- From the publication named on the product page — Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, James Suckling and others — recorded with the wine and vintage reviewed. We never assign scores ourselves.
- Is there a case discount?
- No. Build a Case lets you mix any twelve bottles into one shipment at their individual prices. The saving comes from choosing well and from shipping twelve bottles together.
- How do I know if a wine is dry?
- Every product page has a Sweetness scale from 1 (bone dry) to 5 (sweet), alongside Body and, where verified, acidity and tannin.
- What if a wine is out of stock?
- The product page stays online marked 'currently out of stock' with similar wines you can buy now. Stock counts sync from the store several times a day.
- What if my order arrives damaged?
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will replace or refund it. See the returns page for details.
- Do I need an account to order?
- No. Accounts are free and optional; they save your addresses, favorites and order history.
