About the winery · Sogrape Vinhos / Mateus ›

Mateus is a Portuguese rose brand from Sogrape, one of Portugal's major family-owned wine producers. The brand was created in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes and became known internationally for its distinctive bottle shape and approachable rose style. Mateus Dry Rose is the brand's modern U.S. expression, presented as a drier, paler, still rose made for contemporary rose drinkers. Sogrape identifies Diogo Sepulveda as the winemaker in charge of Mateus, Vinho Verde, Dao, and Lisbon.
