Ferrari-Carano was founded by Don and Rhonda Carano in 1981 after they discovered Northern Sonoma County while sourcing wines for their Reno hospitality business. The winery broke ground in Dry Creek Valley in 1985, and the first Ferrari-Carano wines released included a Fume Blanc and an Alexander Valley Chardonnay. Today Ferrari-Carano is part of Foley Family Wines and continues to focus on Sonoma County and North Coast wines. The producer states that its vineyards have earned California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance certification.
