Michael David Winery is a family-run Lodi producer founded by the Phillips family, whose roots in the area go back to farming in the 1860s. Brothers Michael and David Phillips are identified by the winery as fifth-generation grape growers, with a sixth generation now involved. The winery opened a small tasting room in 1984 and has become known for colorful, unconventional labels such as Freakshow. Michael David states that its Lodi-grown wines are farmed according to Lodi Rules sustainability standards.
