Ripe black cherry and blackberry wrapped in vanilla and bittersweet chocolate, with soft tannins and a smooth, slightly plush finish rather than a firm, drying one.
You like big, smooth California reds and lean toward the richer, slightly sweeter end - think Apothic, Josh Cellars Cabernet, or the Menage a Trois Red Blend with more Cabernet muscle.
At $18.99 this is a crowd-pleaser that almost never divides a table: enough oak and chocolate richness to feel like a treat, soft enough tannins that it does not need food or air to show well.
Grilled meat, party pours, and anyone who finds classic dry Cabernet too austere.
Full-bodied, fruit-forward and oak-driven California Cabernet with a touch of residual sweetness - opulent rather than structured.
Sits alongside other rich, softly sweet-edged California Cabernets and dark red blends; it is not a substitute for a dry, tannic Napa or Bordeaux-style Cabernet.
Beginner-friendly; a comfortable step up for shoppers moving from sweet reds toward Cabernet.
grilled red meat - steak, burgers, short ribs · hard aged cheeses such as aged cheddar or gouda · sweet-sauced ribs or pulled pork, where the wine's soft edge meets the sauce · meat lasagna, chili, or a loaded pizza · flourless chocolate cake or brownies - the chocolate note makes this rare among cabernets

The most lavish Cabernet in the Menage a Trois lineup, Decadence layers black cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry with bittersweet chocolate and vanilla spice. It is smooth, round and generous, with just enough sweetness on the edges to make it easy company.

Menage a Trois launched in St. Helena, California in 1996 with a convention-shattering blend of three red varietals - Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon - long before blends were a trend in the United States. That original red blend is widely credited as the catalyst behind today's popular California Red Blend category. The brand grew largely by word of mouth, adding white and rose blends, and expanded significantly after joining the Trinchero Family Estates portfolio in 2004. Its label art - twin dancers inspired by Rorschach inkblots - and playful wine names like Silk, Limelight, Lavish and Luscious signal the house style: bold, sensual and unapologetically flavor-forward. Decadence is the lineup's most extravagant Cabernet Sauvignon.

“Silver Medal, Highly Recommended - described by the panel as a rich and chewy Cabernet with instant appeal for fans of big reds, with notes of wild blackberries, dark chocolate, vanilla and sandalwood.”
