About the winery · Sterling Vineyards ›

Sterling Vineyards was founded in 1964 by Peter Newton and Michael Stone in Napa Valley. The winery is known for its hilltop, Mykonos-inspired architecture and aerial gondola experience in Calistoga. Sterling states that it was one of only 27 bonded wineries in Napa Valley at the time of its founding and that it helped popularize varieties such as Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon in the region. The property reopened in 2023 after the 2020 Glass Fire, and the winery says the site is powered by 100% renewable electricity.
