What it tastes like

Crisp lemon and grapefruit with pear, white peach, passion fruit, light floral notes, and a clean, refreshing finish.

You’ll like this if…

Choose this if you like Sauvignon Blanc that is fruit-forward and citrusy but a little rounder than a very grassy New Zealand style.

Why buy it

A dependable Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc with enough brightness for seafood and salads and enough texture for chicken, creamy orzo, and vegetable dishes.

Best for

A chilled white for dinners, brunch, appetizers, and casual entertaining.

Style

Napa Sauvignon Blanc: bright acidity, ripe citrus and stone fruit, modest body, and only subtle neutral-oak influence.

Drinks like

Riper and rounder than Loire Sancerre; less pungent and grassy than many Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs.

Experience level

Easy for new wine drinkers, but still regionally specific enough for Napa fans.

Pairs well with

lemon chicken orzo with asparagus and parmesan · grilled shrimp with citrus and herbs · goat cheese salad with grapefruit or green apple · asparagus, spinach, or zucchini with lemon

About the winery · Sterling Vineyards ›

Sterling Vineyards was founded in Napa Valley in 1964 and produced early vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery is closely associated with Calistoga and its hilltop winery, which is accessed by an aerial gondola. Sterling's own materials emphasize Napa Valley fruit sources ranging from cooler southern areas to warmer northern sites near Calistoga. The property reopened in 2023 after renovations following the 2020 Glass Fire, and Sterling notes ongoing sustainability efforts including renewable electricity and solar projects.
