Green apple and pear with melon and lemon, a soft honeysuckle lift, and a finish that turns gently toward caramel and toasted hazelnut from its time in French oak.
You like Chardonnay with some roundness but not a heavy butterbomb, or you usually reach for an unoaked Chardonnay and want a little more texture.
Under fifteen dollars you are getting real winemaking detail here: stainless fermentation, six weeks on the lees and six months in French oak, which is more work than most Chardonnays at this shelf price.
An easy everyday white for chicken, fish and pasta nights, and a safe bottle to bring when you do not know the crowd.
Dry, medium-bodied California Chardonnay in a balanced middle-ground style: creamy texture from lees aging and light oak, held together by acidity that was deliberately preserved.
Sits between a crisp unoaked Chardonnay such as Chablis or Macon and a rich, full-throttle Napa Chardonnay; close in spirit to a moderately oaked Sonoma or Central Coast bottling.
Beginner-friendly and familiar, with enough texture to keep more seasoned Chardonnay drinkers interested.
seafood dishes such as shellfish and roasted white fish · grilled chicken · pork loin or pork chops · veal cutlets or veal piccata · fettuccine or linguine in a light cream or butter sauce · young gruyere, fontina or a mild goat cheese
Guidance partly estimated by WineDiscounts from the wine’s style.
A dry, medium-bodied California Chardonnay with green apple, pear and melon fruit, a silky lees-built texture and gentle French oak notes of caramel and hazelnut. Partial malolactic fermentation keeps the acidity fresh rather than heavy.

Cartlidge & Browne began in 1980 in Napa Valley, when Tony Cartlidge and Glen Browne started a wine company with no vineyards, no winery and no formal winemaking background. Working out of a garage, they were among the earliest American practitioners of the garagiste approach borrowed from Bordeaux, buying grapes rather than land and choosing fruit vineyard by vineyard. That buying-not-owning philosophy still defines the brand, which sources across California's viticultural regions to make varietally clear, fruit-forward wines. The house lineup today covers Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with winemaking led by Sonoma native Russ Fish. The winery is based in Sonoma, California, and donates a share of on-premise case sales to CORE, a nonprofit that provides financial relief to food and beverage workers with children facing a health crisis or disaster.

“Fruity, buttery aromas are followed by a generously fruit-filled flavor, smooth texture and buttery aftertaste.”
