About the winery · Charles Smith Wines ›

Charles Smith Wines was founded by Charles Smith, whose background included managing rock bands in Europe before he started making wine in Washington. The winery says Charles released his first 330 cases in 2001 after a Walla Walla road trip led him into winemaking. The brand emphasizes direct, drinkable wines and bold, graphic labels created with artist Rikke Korff. For its white wines, the winery states that it forgoes battonage and fines and filters for stability.
