Caymus Vineyards was founded in Rutherford in 1972 by Chuck Wagner and his parents, Lorna and Charlie Wagner Sr. The winery remains family-owned and is closely associated with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Caymus describes its Cabernet style as dark, concentrated, ripe and fruit-driven, with softness from the day of release. The winery also produces Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon from selected Napa Valley barrels.
