Crisp and dry-leaning, with pear and green apple fruit, a squeeze of lemon and a honeysuckle note; the texture is a touch rounder than a lean Italian Pinot Grigio.

About the winery · Sterling Vineyards ›

Sterling Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery near Calistoga, founded in 1964 by Peter Newton, an Oxford graduate turned businessman. Its hilltop winery, built to resemble the whitewashed villages of Mykonos, sits about 300 feet above the valley floor and is reached by a gondola lift, making it one of Napa's best-known visitor destinations. The house made its international name with Bordeaux- and Burgundy-styled wines, and took first place at the Ottawa Wine Tasting of 1981. Today it is part of Treasury Wine Estates and bottles across several tiers, from Napa Valley and Reserve wines down to this widely distributed Vintner's Collection. The Vintner's Collection draws fruit from vineyards across California rather than from the Napa estate, which is how the pricing stays friendly.

Critic reviews

88/100Wine Enthusiast

“Simple, fruity, juicy and fun, find notes of white lilies, lilacs, and cherry blossom; green apple and pear and a hint of banana.”
