About the winery · Sterling Vineyards ›

Sterling Vineyards was founded in 1964 in Napa Valley by Peter Newton and Michael Stone. The winery was one of only 27 bonded wineries in Napa Valley at the time and helped build the region's reputation through Bordeaux-inspired wines. Sterling bottled California's first vintage-dated Merlot in 1969. Its hilltop winery was inspired by the white stucco architecture of Mykonos and is known for its aerial gondola experience.
