A bright, easygoing California Sauvignon Blanc from Sterling's everyday Vintner's Collection, with passion fruit, pink grapefruit and lemon citrus aromas and a hint of fresh-cut grass. Juicy citrus and stone fruit flavors finish clean and refreshing, which makes it a reliable house white at this price.

Sterling Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery near Calistoga, founded in 1964 by Peter Newton and Michael Stone, with its first vintage in 1969. Its white hilltop winery, reached by an aerial gondola, became one of Napa's best-known visitor destinations. The brand has changed hands several times over the decades - Coca-Cola, Seagram and Diageo among them - and is now part of Treasury Wine Estates. Sterling built its reputation on Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The Vintner's Collection is the approachable, broadly sourced California tier meant for everyday drinking rather than the estate and single-vineyard bottlings.
