Terre Nere is a Montalcino estate associated with the Vallone family and Campigli Vallone Soc. Agricola. Its vineyards are in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area south/southeast of Montalcino, near Castello della Velona. The estate covers about 15 hectares, including 10 hectares of vines, with 9 hectares planted to Sangiovese and 1 hectare to Cabernet Sauvignon. The name refers to the dark galestro-rich soils influenced by nearby Monte Amiata, and the winery states that it farms organically and emphasizes biodiversity.
